Oh my, this apple crisp is so delicious! I mean, just look at it. Don’t you just want to eat it straight out of the pyrex? You should have seen the mad rush of kids trying to get at every last bit of this yummy apple crisp!
Ingredients:
- 6 Granny Smith apples, peeled
- 6 Red Delicious or Gala apples, peeled
- ½ cup brown sugar
- 3 tblsp all-purpose flour
- 2 tblsp lemon juice
- 2 tblsp maple syrup
- 1 tsp cinnamon
Crumb Topping:
- 1 cup all-purpose flour
- ¾ cup rolled oats
- ½ cup brown sugar
- ½ cup chopped pecans
- 1 tsp cinnamon
- ¼ tsp salt
- ¼ cup (1 stick) unsalted butter, COLD and diced
Instructions:
- Preheat oven to 375 degrees. Grease 9×13 baking dish with butter.
- Dice apples into small pieces and place in a large bowl. Add brown sugar, all-purpose flour, lemon juice, maple syrup and cinnamon. Mix until well combined. Pour into baking dish.
- For the topping, mix flour, oats, brown sugar, cinnamon and salt in a large bowl. With your hands, blend the butter into the mixture until crumbly. Stir in pecans and sprinkle over apples.
- Bake for 35-40 minutes or until apples are tender and golden brown.
