Yesterday was our first day on Dr Oz’s Ten Day Cleanse. It was easy and we had some yummy, healthy food. Although, I have to admit I was hungry at the end of the day, because you’re not supposed to eat after 8pm and I love to have my bowl of cereal before bed. I drank a glass of water instead.
Here is what we had for the day.
I started the morning with a warm cup of water with lemon. Then, made myself a Chocolate Almond Smoothie. It was DELICIOUS! That smoothie tastes like chocolate dessert, it’s so good. It’s being added to my list of favorite smoothies.
For lunch, I made this protein packed Burrito Bowl. Bottom layer with black beans, followed by shredded romaine lettuce, topped with cajun spiced grilled chicken. Then I made an avocado cream sauce with an avocado, greek yogurt, fresh cilantro, fresh lime juice and salt. YUM. I also added some spicy salsa to my burrito bowl because I didn’t have any fresh pico, although that’s what I would have preferred.
Snacking during the day, I had an organic Honeycrisp apple (my favorite type of apple) and some raw organic almonds. Plus, I drank a cup of decaf green tea and lots of water. That seemed to keep me satisfied until dinner.
For dinner, we had a Creamy Tomato Soup alongside a slice of Socca bread. I used Greek Yogurt to make the tomato soup creamy instead of heavy cream and Socca bread is made with just four simple ingredients, chickpea flour, water, olive oil and salt! Since I couldn’t use butter for my bread, I just drizzled a little olive oil on top and rubbed some fresh garlic as soon as it came out of the oven. I think next time I’ll add the fresh garlic and rosemary into the mix, yum. I just love Creamy Tomato Soup.
That’s about it. Very simple, very satisfying. I’d love to hear from you on how your journey on the Dr Oz cleanse is going too. Until tomorrow.
