Well, your child will LOVE hosting his own Food Jules Cooking Birthday Party!

These parties are a great success! The kids have so much fun in the kitchen with their friends; cracking eggs, measuring ingredients, mixing batter, rolling dough and best of all, eating all their delicious food! Not only is it exciting cooking and baking, but it’s a GREAT learning experience too.

Your child will design his/her own menu based around one of our Birthday Party Themes. Our parties are hosted in the comfort of your own home. We don’t need much space, just a large empty table and we do all the work, from organizing the recipes, purchasing and prepping all the ingredients, setting up the cooking party area, teaching and guiding the kids through the cooking and baking process and at the end of the party, we do all the clean up. You don’t need to do anything, except sit back and relax as your kids enjoy this fun and educational experience.

Gluten Free Pizza

I have been searching for the perfect Gluten Free pizza but none of them have really tasted as good as traditional white pizza, until now. Plus, gluten free pizza offered at various restaurants as well as the pre-made store bought pizza dough sold at grocery stores are loaded with starches and rice flour. I wanted to eat a pizza made with whole grain ingredients.

This combination here is perfect. This Gluten Free Pizza Dough has just a little starch and rice flour which helps to keep it fluffy and light and the whole grain flours give this pizza dough so much flavor. Plus, this pizza reheats beautifully in the toaster oven and tastes fresh even a couple days later.

This pizza bread tastes so delicious, you can even eat it plain, without any sauce or cheese. You will want to make some of this tonight!

Enjoy!

Summer Vegetable “Burgers”

Every summer, I look forward to growing and buying farm fresh fruits and vegetables. You just can’t beat fresh peas, swiss chard, kale, zucchini, string beans and those sweet yummy tomatoes as well as many other delicious produce.

When you eat freshly picked produce you can taste the difference from out of season produce from your local supermarket. It’s the best time to get creative in the kitchen and eat it all up.

Well, unfortunately this year, we have a tiny garden. There just wasn’t enough time to get it organized and put together this spring with our new little sweet Benny boy, but that’s ok, he is our priority right now as well as all of our fun summer activities. However, that doesn’t mean we aren’t getting any garden fresh produce around here. My parents have a huge garden so they are always kind to share with us plus all the yummy stuff we buy at our local farmers market.

Right now is the time for zucchini, cucumbers and string beans. Lots of zucchini! So, I always enjoy baking zucchini bread, muffins, cookies as well as cooking fried zucchini, zucchini frittata, risotto, pancakes and now these summer vegetable burgers. These “burgers” are awesome, made with shredded onions, carrots, zucchini and garlic. You can even add in there some fresh corn on the cob and protein packed quinoa. We love eating them with oven baked “french fries” on the side and without a bun. It’s healthier that way and you get to enjoy eating more of the actual “burger”. Vegetable burgers are so versatile, you can make them with any of your favorite vegetables or beans. We also have a favorite Black Bean Burger that we make here at home. It’s also very yummy.

Enjoy!

Jalapeno Popper Dip

As we all know, today is Superbowl Sunday. I don’t know about you, but football isn’t my thing, but eating tons of snacks and drinks IS my thing!

jalapeno popper dip

I made this Jalapeno Popper Dip, as a special treat for my husband who loves Jalapeno Poppers, as one of tonight’s tasty treats. It is so creamy and packed with tons of cheese and the crunchy topping from the Panko breadcrumbs and parmesan cheese is delicious. Plus, it’s definitely got a little kick from the jalapeno peppers. If you like it even spicier, you can always add a chili pepper to this dip too.

Enjoy!

Chocolate Zucchini Muffins

Our home garden is coming to an end. This year, we didn’t plant any pumpkins so all we have left now are some green peppers. The other day, I found a large zucchini hanging out there too so today I made these Chocolate Zucchini Muffins, yum!

These muffins are the perfect afternoon snack. They hit the right spot with the perfect amount of sweetness layered with a deep chocolate flavor. Plus, they are so moist from the addition of Greek yogurt, which I have been adding to all my baked goods for years now. It’s the secret ingredient to making the most moist baked goods, trust me!

So, bake some up today and not only will your house smell fabulous but your whole body will enjoy eating these sweet babies.

Kids Cooking Birthday Parties

As many of you know, Food Jules teaches at some local schools as part of their After School Enrichment Program. Food Jules also offers Kids Cooking Birthday Parties for those that are celebrating birthdays. This has been a growing area for us as many kids are looking for fun, new ways to celebrate their birthday. It’s a great opportunity for them to enjoy designing their own party from picking the theme, menu and being the top chef!

These parties are a lot of fun and a great way to introduce more children to the benefits of preparing and eating real food, especially for those kids that don’t go to our local schools and aren’t involved in our after school curriculum.

The themes and menu options are endless from Lasagna Rolls, stuffed with fresh ricotta, mozzarella and spinach from our Tutto Italiano party, to these Maple Oatmeal Scones from our English Tea party and Quiches, Waffles and Pancakes from our Breakfast All Day party. Plus, Food Jules always uses all-natural, whole grain, natural ingredients.

We have designed many fun themes for these parties and you’ll find all this information here on our website, in our Cooking Classes section. If your child or the child of someone you know, is interested in hosting a Food Jules Cooking Birthday Party, we’d love to hear from you.
